Daan Utsav 2026

On 16th October 2026, the Social Service Committee of Pillai University, School of Business in association with Soroptimist International Bombay Chembur, organized Daan Utsav 2026 at the University Campus. DAAN UTSAV is a festival that promotes kindness, generosity, and the joy of giving. The event encouraged students to contribute to society through teamwork, creativity, and meaningful community participation.

The event was inaugurated by our Director, Dr. R. Chandran. He visited every stall, interacted with the students, and appreciated their enthusiasm, creativity, and dedication. His presence motivated the students and added to the positive spirit of the event.

Several stalls were planned, set up, and managed completely by students. Each stall had a unique theme and offered visitors an enjoyable experience:

  • Soda Stall – Fizz Factory: Served refreshing cold sodas and custom fizzy drinks in classic, fruity, and unique flavours.
  • Wafers Bhel Stall – Wafer Chaska Express: Offered a crunchy snack prepared using crisp wafers, tangy chutneys, fresh vegetables, and spices.

The following photographs capture some of the memorable moments from Daan Utsav 2026.

  • Chinese Bhel Stall – Dragon’s Bhel: Served a spicy and crispy street-food favourite tossed in flavourful sauces. It was highly appreciated by visitors.
  • Sequence Match Game Stall – The Sequence / Can Jam: Featured an interactive sequence-matching game that encouraged friendly competition among visitors of all age groups.
  • Cup Game Stall – Hit Hai Boss / Cup Challenge: Provided engaging cup-based games that tested participants’ accuracy, focus, and skill.

All stalls maintained proper hygiene standards. Students ensured responsible waste disposal and handled food carefully by using gloves and hair caps. Their attention to cleanliness and safety reflected a strong sense of responsibility.

Faculty members and staff actively participated in the event. They visited the stalls, enjoyed the food and games, and appreciated the students’ hard work and creativity. Their involvement created a warm, energetic, and supportive atmosphere on campus.

Beyond fundraising, Daan Utsav 2026 gave students practical exposure to important skills such as teamwork, leadership, communication, event planning, creativity, customer interaction, and financial responsibility. It also helped them understand the value of empathy, collective action, and social responsibility.

At the end of the event, the students were pleased to see that their collective efforts had raised a good amount of funds. True to the spirit of Daan Utsav, the entire amount was donated to the Soroptimist Welfare Association, an NGO working towards the upliftment and empowerment of women and girls. This contribution reflected the students’ commitment to creating a positive difference in society.

We sincerely thank Dr. R. Chandran, Dr. Krushna R. Sawant, and Dr. Celina Joy for their valuable guidance, encouragement, and support. We also extend our gratitude to the university management, faculty, staff, students, and all visitors who contributed to the success of Daan Utsav 2026.
