Pillai University’s School of Business, successfully conducted the Inauguration Program on the 13th of July 2026 for the MBA Cohorts’ Batch of 2026-2028. The program began with lighting the traditional lamp and invoicing Goddess Sarawasti, epitomizing the pursuit of knowledge and wisdom.
The program was graced by Dr. Vilas Zode, Executive Director, HR Department, HPCL as the Chief Guest, and dignitaries Dr. R Chandran (Director), Dr. Nivedita Shreyans (Director PR), Dr. K. P. Gopal (Registrar), along with the faculty members and newly enrolled students.

The students had the privilege of participating in an engaging and insightful interactive session with our Honourable Chief Guest, Dr. Vilas Zode. The session offered valuable insights into the Government of India’s approach to addressing the global implications of the ongoing Iran–USA conflict, including disruptions in international trade, escalating geopolitical tensions, fluctuations in oil prices, inflation, and regional instability. It provided students with a deeper understanding of how such geopolitical developments influence India’s economy and policy decisions.
Dr. Zode also elaborated on the current global energy scenario, explaining how the Indian government is strategically addressing geopolitical challenges while implementing measures to safeguard the nation’s economic interests and ensure the well-being of its citizens. His expert insights enabled students to develop an informed perspective on current affairs and distinguish credible information from the misinformation and rumours circulating online.
The session further highlighted the growing significance of ethanol-blended fuels. Students gained a deeper understanding of how countries such as Brazil have successfully adopted ethanol blending with petrol and diesel for over two decades, along with its environmental, economic, and long-term implications for India’s energy future.
We are grateful to our respected faculty members for their constant support and guidance, and to Dr. Vilas Zode, for giving us this unique opportunity to learn beyond the classroom. The event was both educational and enjoyable, leaving us with valuable lessons for our academic and personal growth.
We culminated the event with the National Anthem.
