As a part of experiential learning and to provide practical exposure to the retail industry, a visit to various retail malls was organized for MBA first year students, Batch 2025-27. Students participated in groups and visited different retail mall formats to study the functioning, strategies, and operational aspects of retail chain companies. The visit enabled students to connect classroom concepts of retail management with real-world practices.
Purpose of the Visit
The primary objective of the retail mall visit was to help students understand the various facets of a retail chain company and gain practical insights into the retail business environment. The specific objectives included:
- To understand the layout, design, and customer flow management in retail malls.
- To study the merchandising strategies followed by retail stores, including product display, pricing, promotions, and customer engagement techniques.
- To observe the role of branding, visual merchandising, and store ambience in influencing consumer buying behaviour.
