Prof. Vinod Madhavan of IIC conducted a Session on “Role of WTC’s in Business Linkages” on 6th and 7th October 2025. The objective of the session was to explain the role of WTC’s in trade. Although it was about the World trade process, evolving trends and delineation of challenging scenarios, Indian and Australian perspectives were discussed extensively. There was an opportunity to discuss the current status of globalization at the backdrop of tariff and trade restriction on 6th and 7th October 2025. Focus was also given on how export driven economic growth faces certain setbacks and how several governments are strategizing to give leverage to Export processing Zone, Special Economic Zone, Export Oriented Units, Trade policy and forging free trade agreements with new allies to reduce uncertainties and ensure trade driven economic progress. Several cases related to trade disruption owing to pandemic, warfare, supply chain interruption, geopolitical tension, inward looking approach and reciprocity in tariff measure were narrated broadly. The certificate course in global trade by IWFCI has been to provide a comprehensive view on international trade and investment practices. It was quite an interactive and enriching experience in the presence of students from various nationalities. 56 students attended the session.
