Pillai Institute of Management Studies & Research, under its Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) in association with the Pillai Centre of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (PCIE), organised a seminar on “Sustainability for New Businessess” on 3rd December 2025 at the PIMSR Auditorium. The session was conducted by Mr. Jangoo Dalal, Founder and CEO of GovEVA, a leading digital platform in governance and sustainability management.

The objective of the seminar was to enhance students’ understanding of sustainability-driven business practices and the increasing importance of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles in shaping modern corporate strategies. Mr. Dalal delivered an insightful talk on the global shift toward responsible business functioning, the consequences companies face when ESG norms are ignored, and the new opportunities created through sustainability-focused strategies. He also introduced GovEVA’s innovative digital tools that support organizations in governance automation, compliance tracking, and ESG reporting. Through real-world examples, he demonstrated how technology is redefining accountability, transparency, and stakeholder trust in contemporary organizations.

The seminar was highly interactive, with students and faculty members engaging in discussions on emerging ESG career pathways, regulatory developments, and how businesses can integrate sustainability with profitability. A key highlight of the event was the formal signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between PIMSR and GovEVA to initiate a Co-Certified ESG Education Program aimed at strengthening industry–academia collaboration through expert-led workshops, specialized training modules, sustainability research, and practical learning exposure for students. This partnership is expected to greatly enhance students’ skills and preparedness for roles in governance, compliance, and sustainability management.

Overall, the event provided a comprehensive understanding of the growing relevance of ESG in today’s business landscape and encouraged students to view sustainability not merely as an obligation but as a core driver of long-term corporate value and responsible leadership.
