A three hour Session on “Logistics and Supply Chain Management for new startups” was organised by IIC of PIMSR in association with IWFCi India National Chapter on 15th October 2025 at 12 noon for student entrepreneurs of Pillai College. The aim of the session was to help them understand the growing importance of this field in today’s global economy. The session began with an introduction to the basic concepts of logistics — how goods are transported, stored, and distributed — and how supply chain management connects various stages from production to final delivery. The resource person explained how technology, data, and coordination between different departments play a key role in ensuring products reach customers efficiently. Real-life examples from industries like e-commerce, retail, and manufacturing helped students relate the concepts to everyday business operations. The session also highlighted the wide range of career opportunities available in logistics, such as operations management, inventory control, procurement, and warehouse management.

Students actively participated in the discussion and shared their thoughts on how logistics influences customer satisfaction and business success. The session concluded with an interactive Q&A, where students clarified their doubts and learned about the latest trends like green logistics and digital supply chains. Overall, the session was highly informative and engaging. The session benefited the students as it helped them explore logistics and supply chain management as a promising career path in the modern business world. 47 students and one IIC member attended the session.
