Book Review of Fiction & Non-Fiction Books by Management Faculty on the Occasion of World Book and Copyright Day
The PIMSR Book Club organized a “Book Review Session by Management Faculty” on the occasion of World Book & Copyright Day on 23rd April, 2026 at Conclave, Pillai University, with the objective of promoting reading culture and literary appreciation among faculty members.
The event commenced with an introductory address by Prof. Subhendu Bhattacharya, who welcomed the gathering and emphasized the importance of books and reading in academic and professional development. He highlighted how reading contributes to knowledge enhancement, critical thinking, and lifelong learning.
Ms. Tejaswini Karkhanis, Librarian explained the significance of celebrating World Book & Copyright Day with a short presentation on the different books available in the PIMSR Library.
The book review session featured presentations by faculty members from the School of Business. Prof. Anish Pillai reviewed The Go-Giver by Bob Burg & John David Mann and shared valuable insights on leadership, giving, and professional success.
Dr. Krushna R. Sawant presented a review of Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte and discussed the themes of resilience, individuality, and personal growth reflected in the novel.
Dr. Bimlesh Sharma reviewed The Art of War by Sun Tzu and highlighted its relevance in strategic thinking, leadership, and decision-making in modern management practices.
Prof. Prasenjit K. Yesambare shared a review of The World is Flat by Thomas Friedman and explained how globalization and technological advancements have transformed the modern world and business environment.
Prof. Vinod Madhavan reviewed 10X is Easier than 2X by Dan Sullivan and Dr. Benjamin Hardy, emphasizing the importance of focused growth, productivity, and achieving greater success through strategic thinking.
The Vote of Thanks was delivered by Dr. Celina Joy, who expressed sincere gratitude to all the faculty members, participants, organizers, and attendees for their enthusiastic participation and contribution towards the success of the event.
The program concluded on a positive note, inspiring participants to continue engaging in literary and intellectual activities and reinforcing the importance of cultivating a lifelong habit of reading within the PIMSR community.
