Pillai Institute of Management Studies & Research organized the 7th Global Conference on the theme “Emerging Business Practices: Sustainability – The New Normal” on 8th October, 2022, in a hybrid mode at Dr. K. M. Vasudevan Pillai Campus, New Panvel. The objective of this international conference was to engage in discussion and debate on the benefits and difficulties of implementing sustainable business practices in the post-covid era. Dr. Diana Abruzzi, was the Chief Guest for the conference. Ms. Abruzzi is the International Chairman and Founder of the International Women’s Federation of Commerce and Industry (IWFCI). With an educational background in Social Sciences she comes from a successful family line of Australian entrepreneurs having established vibrant businesses in Insurance, transportation, Mining and property development. As an international speaker she has greatly assisted in the areas of small business development, international trade and the general economic advancement of women around the world. Dr. Abruzzi in her keynote address spoke on the essence of sustainability in business practices and investments in development of human capital as the most sustainable business practice. She stressed on the importance of human connections for a knowledge economy to survive and grow.

We also had a pre-conference session by Dr. Ritesh Kumar, Member, CMS in Touch on how to publish project work and case study writing. Dr. Kumar talked about the importance of publishing project work and the process involved in getting publications in A category journals. He also spoke about steps in case study writing and the necessity of case study writing in academia. The conference saw research paper presentations across various management tracks. Authors from worldwide universities presented their work in a variety of fields in relation to the conference’s theme. The presentations were moderated by Dr. Saramma Mathew and Dr. Monali Sharma. The conference was coordinated by Dr. Celina Joy and Dr. Anjali Bhute.
