Mr. Sunil Chourasia
On the 24th of August, Sunil Chourasia, conducted a session for the students of Marketing, Pimsr on the topic of Sales and Distribution Channel. Mr. Chourasia also shared his whole experience about his journey in the FMCG sector. Right from his first job, what all hurdles he faced, what were his learnings and what we can learn from his experience.
Mr. Chourasia shared how he was born and brought up in Mumbai guy, had to face the field work of all parts of India like Indore, Chattisgarh, Nashik and how he did sales over there. He then got to work with companies like Cadbury and Abott nutrition, where he handled consumer marketing. He was one of the person who was behind the launch of Oreo biscuits, tank and he had handled the challenges in those days and what we can learn from his experience. He also talked about the trade channels, there are three types- Traditional, Modern and Institution. How there is a change in the market because of these channels and how fast the modern channel is growing in today’s world. Later, he even told us about what skills are required for a marketing and sales trainee, how to face the interview questions which was very helpful for all the students of PIMSR.
At the end of the session, students asked their doubts to him regarding the corporate world, whether what salary should we as freshers should expect, how long would it take for the students to go from a Management trainee to a higher profile, Mr. Chourasia solved each and every question of the students and left and impact on the students of PIMSR. In all, it was a wonderful session and very helpful for the marketing students.
