The Research Monitoring Committee organised a Faculty Development Programme on “Engage, Don’t Just Teach” for the faculty of PiMSR on 7th March, 2022 at 12.45 p.m. Twenty faculty members attended the workshop. The resource person was Dr. Vijay Deshpande, Human Resources Advisor- JK Tyre & Industries Limited. Dr. Deshpande has over 34 years experience in Human Resource Management and Development. He has also worked in manufacturing, logistics and project management areas. He has a keen interest in training & development. He has having worked in large multinationals as well large Indian companies – Britannia, Bayer, Bombay Dyeing group, KEC International, Kansai Nerolac, Bajaj Electricals and Greaves Cotton Limited.

Mr. Deshpande shared his experiences of teaching students and spoke about “passion for teaching” being the most important quality for a teacher. He said that passion is the driving force for successfully guiding students and the hallmark of a good teacher. He shared tips that faculty members can inculcate to make the class engaging for students. He reiterated the importance of storytelling for higher engagement levels among students. The session ended with his sharing some anecdotes and experiences of teaching. On behalf of PIMSR, Dr. Betty Sibil proposed the vote of thanks and felicitated Mr. Deshapande.
